Offsite module manufactureFabrication The modules are fabricated to exacting standards in Consafe's own safe clean indoor workshop environment where high quality work is guaranteed. Each steel structure is fully completed to its own design and fitted with all the reinforcement, bracket supports and apertures necessary for the subsequent outfitting phase. Extensive non-destructive testing is performed before despatch to the painting facility. The overall result is an extremely strong module that is very light in weight. Although modules are normally fabricated in carbon steel, Consafe also fabricate in stainless steel where required.
Outfitting After each module is fabricated and checked for completeness and dimensional accuracy it is delivered to the paintshop for blasting and coating before delivery to the Consafe outfitting facility. Here it will be progressively fitted with all architectural wall floor and ceiling components - according to a strict production programme. Similarly the electrical and mechanical services distribution systems are installed along with all the equipment and progressively tested. All specialist equipment used in the eventual operation of the facility is then also installed connected and tested. Our clients are welcome to attend all stages of the construction and testing process. Testing and Commissioning A considerable advantage of this form of construction is the ability to undertake testing and commissioning activities offsite, that is - prior to delivery of the modules to the final assembly site. As the outfitting of each module progresses a high level of system testing is performed at Consafe's premises which is rigorously documented to provide an accurate measurement of completion status and a detailed summary of each remaining assembly task - long before it arrives at the clients assembly site.
