The first four of BP’s new Blast Rated Buildings valued at over £2M, from Consafe Engineering Services Ltd have been delivered to site at Wytch Farm, Dorset.
These buildings are specifically designed to fit in with the wooded environment of the Wytch Farm site and can withstand severe blast overpressure levels of up to 2.2 Bar, and as such the buildings will provide high levels of protection for site personnel.
Constructed at Consafe’s East Tullos Industrial Estate facility, the four buildings range from 50 square metres to 200 square metres.
As a further safety measure, these and the other four all steel buildings under completion are designed to be assembled on site without any welding or hotwork, Consafe will also be undertaking the installation using their local labour.
Along with this and other ongoing projects Consafe are proud also to announce that they have broken through the 1000 days without a Lost Time Incident, with the last one being reported on 10 December 2004.
Safety is important to any manufacture and this milestone is attributed to the professionalism of the Consafe workforce.
